The domestic sales of tractors decreased by 13% to 62,626 units in October 2026 from 72,071 units reported in the same period of the previous year. Partially offsetting this was the strong performance of exports which also were strong during the month.
During October 2026, Mahindra sold 62,626 tractors in the domestic market, while in October 2025, it sold 72,071 units. This is a decrease of 9445 units when compared to the same period of the previous year.
The company's lower domestic sales were driven mainly by a shift in the festive calendar. This year, Diwali is celebrated in November, while it was held last year in October. The change had an impact on the time of festive purchases and deliveries of tractors.
Even as the sales dropped month-on-month, Mahindra's total tractor sales in the domestic market in 2026-27 has increased to 3,25,498 units from 3,19,407 units in the previous financial year. This is an increase of 2% on the previous year.
Mahindra's exports continued to be strong in October 2026. The company exported 2,220 tractors during the month, compared to 1,589 units in October 2025, registering impressive year-on-year growth of 40%.
Cumulated exports also continued to increase. From April to October 2026, Mahindra sold 13,416 tractors, an increase of 19% over the previous year's sales of 11,278.
The robust export figure reflects the company's ongoing market position in the global arena and its potential to increase export of tractors from India.

Mahindra Tractor Sales Prediction
Mahindra's performance in October 2026 is a mixed bag, with sales in the domestic market decreasing but exports showing positive growth. A change in Diwali festivities was a key factor in the year-on-year sales comparison of domestic sales.
The company's overall sales growth in FY2027 is positive as all three segments (domestic, export and total) have grown from April to October this year. The November festive period could be important for domestic tractor demand as the company looks to build on its cumulative growth momentum.
