Faridabad, November 1, 2026: Escorts Kubota Limited has reported its sales performance for October 2026, recording a 10% year-on-year decline in tractor sales while its Construction Equipment Business registered strong growth of 41.6% during the month.
The company's Agri Machinery Business sold 16,921 tractors in October 2026, compared to 18,798 units in October 2025. Despite the decline in monthly sales, cumulative tractor sales during April-October FY2027 increased by 5.5% to 87,800 units, against 83,256 units in the corresponding period last year.
Domestic tractor sales stood at 16,412 units in October 2026, compared to 18,423 units in the same month last year, registering a decline of 10.9%.
According to the company, the Indian tractor industry witnessed some moderation during October 2026. The decline was primarily influenced by a high base effect, a shift in festive timing and monsoon-related disruptions.
Escorts Kubota also highlighted that elevated input costs arising from geopolitical developments and subsequent pricing actions could moderate demand in the near term.
However, the company's cumulative domestic tractor sales remained positive. During April-October FY2027, domestic sales reached 84,497 units, compared to 79,600 units in the corresponding period of FY2026, registering growth of 6.2%.
Escorts Kubota's export performance remained encouraging during October 2026. The company exported 509 tractors, compared to 375 units in October 2025, registering strong year-on-year growth of 35.7%.
However, cumulative exports during April-October FY2027 stood at 3,303 units, compared to 3,656 units in the same period last year, reflecting a decline of 9.7%.
Including domestic and export volumes, total tractor sales reached 16,921 units during October 2026, against 18,798 units in October 2025. For the seven-month period, total sales increased by 5.5% to 87,800 units.
While tractor sales witnessed a decline, Escorts Kubota's Construction Equipment Business Division delivered strong performance in October 2026.
The company sold 640 construction equipment machines during the month, compared to 452 machines in October 2025, registering impressive year-on-year growth of 41.6%.
The construction equipment industry continued its growth momentum during October, supported by sustained infrastructure activity and healthy project execution. The company expects the industry's growth trajectory to remain positive, although the pace could moderate going forward.
Escorts Kubota also noted that geopolitical uncertainties and rising input costs remain important factors to monitor.
The cumulative performance was equally strong, with construction equipment sales reaching 3,748 machines during April-October FY2027, compared to 2,653 machines in the corresponding period last year. This represents growth of 41.3%.
In October 2026, the performance of the business divisions was inconsistent. While domestic tractor demand continued to fall due to a high base effect, strong export numbers sustained growth in the Agri Machinery Business.
Meanwhile, the construction machinery business performed very well due to a strong order backlog as a result of healthy order book execution and a healthy pipeline.
With regard to cumulative performance, the company saw an increase in sales of both tractor units and construction machinery units from April 2026 through October 2026. Looking ahead, positive demand from the festival season, strong rains, an increase in infrastructure investment, and lower input prices, among other things, will drive positive performance for the company.
