TAFE Joins Hands with Germany's DEUTZ, Opens New Engine Plant in Rajasthan

TAFE Motors and Tractors Limited has taken a giant step in the world of manufacturing by investing in a new manufacturing plant in Alwar, Rajasthan, for producing engines. The new plant will be a manufacturing partnership between the German company, DEUTZ AG, which is an engine manufacturer, and the Indian company, and will produce high-quality diesel engines for both the Indian and overseas markets.

The opening of the new manufacturing unit by the Minister of Industry and Commerce of the State of Rajasthan, Mr Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, brought the State to the forefront as an important manufacturing area for the automotive and industrial manufacturing industry.

The plant will be an investment in the latest engine manufacturing technology and will enable India to meet the growing demand for high-performance power solutions.

The company will build their own engines using DEUTZ engine technology.

With DEUTZ AG, the Alwar unit will be manufacturing 2.2-litre and 2.9-litre I.C. engines in the region.

These engines will be given to different industries, including:

• Agriculture & farming tools.
• Construction or manufacturing machinery.
• Material handling machinery
• Logistics and commercial uses.

The engines to be manufactured here will not only be sold to Indian customers but also exported to other countries of the world.

35,000 Engines and 50,000 Components are produced yearly.

TAFE has provided the Alwar facility with up-to-date manufacturing equipment that can manufacture:

35,000/year fully assembled engines

It is the production of 50,000 sub-assembly components for the engines each year.

The new production line is constructed by the company to meet international quality standards and ensure high efficiency, and stable production.

This year, TAFE will be manufacturing 5.5 lakh engines.

The new building is one of the long-term plans of TAFE for expansion. The company will also increase its production capacity to 5.5 lakh engines per year by 2030 with the merger of Amalgamations Group.

This capacity increase is anticipated to further meet the country's growing demand for training and develop export business in a number of international markets.

Through the partnership, it is expected that it will further increase its global presence.

TAFE Motors will be able to leverage the state-of-the-art German engine technology with the DEUTZ AG partnership and hence continue to build its manufacturing capability in India.

The partnership will also facilitate technology transfer, product development and aid customers in agricultural and industrial equipment, as well as commercial vehicles, to obtain compliant, global diesel engines.
