TAFE delivered its best performance in FY26 when the company sold 2,14,951 tractor units, which became its highest annual sales total. The company achieved better growth results than the industry average, which helped it maintain its status as India's second-largest tractor manufacturer and its position as an important worldwide business.
March 2026 Growth: 37.4% (higher than industry growth of 29%)
The strong performance of the company resulted from two main factors, which included its domestic market strength, its successful brand operations through Massey Ferguson and Eicher and its growing farm mechanisation business.
The three factors that supported the company included government policies, monsoon conditions and the increasing demand from small-scale farmers.
Dr Lakshmi Venu, Vice Chairman, TAFE: “This has been a very positive year for both the tractor market and for farmers across the country. In addition to favourable monsoons, the government’s move to reduce GST has provided significant relief to the farming sector.
We are now seeing a very encouraging trend in the penetration of mechanisation in rural areas. This year marks a meaningful shift in the access to mechanisation for small farmers with many first time users entering the mechanization ecosystem.
This will go a long way in improving farm productivity and strengthening farmer incomes across the country. At TAFE, we have remained sharply focused on the rapidly evolving preferences of our customers in this sector, and it is this focus that has enabled us to perform well in the market this year.”
Looking ahead, TAFE remains optimistic about growth, supported by expanding mechanisation, replacement demand, and new tractor applications beyond traditional farming.
