The Indian domestic tractor industry experienced an impressive upswing in September 2025, with total wholesale sales reaching 146,180 units, representing a 45.39% year-over-year growth compared to 100,542 units in September 2024. The strong performance was led by key brands including Sonalika, Mahindra & Mahindra, TAFE Group, and Escorts Kubota, reflecting strong rural demand and favourable agricultural sentiments across India.

Mahindra & Mahindra strengthened its leadership with 64,946 units sold in September 2025, compared to 43,201 units last year. This marks a 50.33% YoY increase and a market share gain of +1.46%, from 42.97% to 44.43%, reaffirming M&M’s dominance in the Indian tractor market.
TAFE Group, representing the Massey Ferguson and Eicher brands, recorded 27,530 units in September 2025, up from 17,984 units last year — a growth of 53.08%.
The company’s market share improved from 17.89% to 18.83% (+0.95% YoY), positioning TAFE as the second-largest tractor manufacturer for the month.

Escorts Kubota achieved 17,803 units in September 2025, compared to 11,985 units last year, marking 48.54% growth.
Its market share rose slightly from 11.92% to 12.18% (+0.26% YoY), highlighting steady performance across agricultural and commercial tractor segments.
John Deere reported 9,240 units sold in September 2025, up 31.92% from 7,004 units in September 2024.
Despite the growth, its market share fell from 6.97% to 6.32%, a -0.65% YoY decline. The brand continues to lead in the premium tractor segment with advanced technology and high reliability.
New Holland sold 6,825 units in September 2025, compared to 4,503 units in September 2024, achieving a 51.57% rise.
Its market share improved slightly from 4.48% to 4.67%, reflecting a +0.19% YoY increase.
The overall 45.39% YoY growth highlights strong momentum in India’s agricultural machinery sector. Factors such as favourable monsoon patterns, improved rural income, and government support for farm mechanisation have fueled demand.
